A “house of prayer” has had many definitions in history, but we define it as a dedicated space to seek the Lord in prayer.

“My house shall be called a ‘house of prayer’ for all nations” is what Jesus says about the house of the Lord. He quoted Isaiah 56, where the Lord spoke to Isaiah that the fruit of His people’s obedience would be establishing them as a place where every tribe, nation, & tongue could seek & find the Lord.

The way we distinguish a house of prayer from a church is most simply summarized in function. A “church”, in our culture, mainly functions as a central communal

As a legal entity, we are identified as Vallejo Foursquare Church; a part of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (ICFG). Foursquare has been modernly accepted as a “charismatic denomination” with pentecostal roots. It’s founder, Aimee Semple McPherson, would define the mission of ICFG to be inter-denominational.
